The refuge at Anahuac hosts a variety of birds, but as you can see, it is also has alligators. We spent most of our time in the car (they do have walking trails but I'm not real sure how that works). It was awesome to see these guys. At one point I was walking along the road taking photos when I looked over at the canal and saw what I thought was a gator, but it was only a tire sticking partially out of the water :).
