I have a Plan

Since I've returned home from Texas, I've been working on a plan of work (as in yard work & house cleaning), play, and exercise that will work for me and I think I've settled on a plan.  The best part of my new plan is that Friday is called "Fun Day"!  So instead of exercising in the morning, I get to choose something that I'd like to do and yesterday I chose to go to the Sunken Gardens and see what there was to photograph.  Here's what I found...

A lady walked by as I was photographing these flowers and said they were Peruvian Lilies, however, when I googled Peruvian Lilies this is not what I found!

I put the previous photo in photoshop to see what I could do.  If this is blown up, you can see the artistic filter that I used.

Labor Day...

...and another trip to the Sunken Garden.  This time I went in the morning.  I learned that the water lilies are closed in the morning.  Maybe I can make it over some afternoon before they are gone.

 Kale

 This lily is ginormous!

Good Friday

Visited East Campus the other week with Diane.  There's a variety of trees there and I thought that they might have buds, or blooms.  Not so much, but some of them had pretty bark.

Then I ran over to the Sunken Gardens to see what was happening there.  Not much but I liked the lily pads in the green water.

August in the Sunken Gardens

Elizabeth and Matt came to visit in August and one afternoon I got to go with Elizabeth and Pam to the Gardens.  It was very hot and Elizabeth actually let us take photos and she even changed her outfit 3 times.  Photographing a 3 year old can be challenging, but so much fun!

See what I mean about it being difficult to photograph a 3 year old, especially one that has her own mind about these things!

She could run like the wind, or was it Pocahantas, ...or both.

 Second outfit...

...and third, and wait a minute, did she actually look at the camera and smile?  Isn't she a doll!!!

New Camera

Sam sold my 50D and found a 7D for me.  I think I'm going to love it.  I am learning to choice the focus point, so this afternoon I went to the Sunken Garden.  The last 2 photos are from my front yard.

Colors of the Prairie

Sam and I walked around Nine Mile Prairie this afternoon.  It was cool and overcast and we had a great walk.  Nothing like last week!

Summer's End

Next week sometime summer ends.  It's been long and hot and I'm looking forward to fall.  Today the weather is beautiful and I went to the Sunken Garden.  Actually I went to the Farmer's Market but that was a waste of time because I couldn't find a parking place since the game is here today.  Oh well, I'll try again next Saturday.
