First Snow

I should be cleaning, or decorating, or shopping, but it is snowing today and it is beautiful!  I only made it out to the front porch with my camera.  Hopefully I'll wander a bit further later on.

There's even snow on the little bird's nest.  Sam found it on the ground last year and it fit so nicely on the wreath on the sled.

Fall

These first 2 photos are from today at Holmes Lake.

These were taken a few weeks ago at Nine Mile Prairie.

August in the Sunken Gardens

Elizabeth and Matt came to visit in August and one afternoon I got to go with Elizabeth and Pam to the Gardens.  It was very hot and Elizabeth actually let us take photos and she even changed her outfit 3 times.  Photographing a 3 year old can be challenging, but so much fun!

See what I mean about it being difficult to photograph a 3 year old, especially one that has her own mind about these things!

She could run like the wind, or was it Pocahantas, ...or both.

 Second outfit...

...and third, and wait a minute, did she actually look at the camera and smile?  Isn't she a doll!!!

A Wedding Gift

Pam saw these pillows, on Etsy I believe, and was sure that Eric and Toodie would need them.  She was also pretty sure that they'd make a great wedding gift, so I did it!  I really like how they turned out and they look really nice sitting on the quilt that Pam made (you can see a bit of it in this photo, which, by the way, I didn't take either).

What to Do when Sleep Evades

It has been a long time since I've done anything with my blog!  So when I woke up at 1:44 am and couldn't go back to sleep, one of the thoughts that came to me was doing something about that.  Here are some photos from long ago, March actually, of the brooch bouquet that Pam and I made for Toodie.  Since the wedding wasn't until May, I didn't want to publish the photos until after the wedding.  I think this is "after" enough :).

I didn't take this photo but I had to add it to this post---the beautiful bride with her bouquet!  Does she look like she's happy, or what?!

On Our Way Home

We left behind the beautiful mountains and wonderful friends early Friday morning.  The sunrise was gorgeous and the scenes breath-taking.

Some CO wildflowers

Views of Colorado, Memories of Hong Kong

In Colorado near Montrose, Sam and I got together with some of the people that we worked with in Hong Kong.  What a wonderful time we had!!!  As I was lying in bed one night, I realized that it was 30 years ago this month that I left for Hong Kong--wow!
As always, I am more comfortable with photographing nature, not people, others did that :).

I did get a few shots of Mike since he took me out one morning to show me some of the beauty of the mountains.

Joslyn Art Museum

I love Chihuly's work!  This is just part of his sculpture in the Joslyn.  Then there's the "balloons" in the cafe at the museum.

Omaha Rose Society Garden

Pam and I went to Omaha today to visit the Rose Garden and also to see the Impressionist exhibit at the Joslyn, which by the way was free!  Anyway, as usual I waited too late to get the best photos of the roses, next year I must go in early June!

This is my all time favorite rose, it's called "Dainty Bess".
