Wagon Train Lake

Thought I'd see what was happening at Wagon Train Lake this afternoon.  I couldn't believe how overgrown it was.  I was the only person there so for about an hour I watched the Herons and frogs.  Boy do I know how to have a good time!

The dot on his face below his eye is actually sunlight that is reflected through his eye, same thing on the photo above.

Sunday...

...morning in our yard,

afternoon at the Sunken Garden (because what's a weekend without a trip to the garden),

and evening at the lake!
It's not so noticeable small, but when this photo is enlarged you can see where I erased a tree trunk that I thought interfered with the composition.

28-70mm in the Sunken Garden

Seems like this time of year the Sunken Garden is a great place to practice photography.  If there isn't any wind like this morning it's even better.  I'm experimenting with posting my photos larger, not sure if I like it better or not, at least you don't have to click on the photo to enlarge it.

New Lens

I found a 28-70 f2.8L Canon lens on Craigslist and arranged to meet the seller at the Sunken Garden.  Pam said it sounded a bit on the creepy side, but it was great deal, and besides Sam went with me.  After buying the lens I did some practice with it.

The photo above was taken with the new lens and the ones below with the 100-400mm.

More Practice

Went to the Sunken Garden again this morning to practice some more with the 100mm lens.  Here's what I saw.

100MM Practice

I rented a 100mm lens from Rockbrook Camera to see what it does.  I went to the Sunken Garden with Kris this morning and here are a few shots.  I really like the colors it picks up and what it does to light in the background.

Can you see the bug hiding?
