Poinsettias

Sam and I took Mom, Caitlin, and Sebastian to Lauritzen Gardens this afternoon to see the Poinsettia show.  It was crowded but the display and variety of Poinsettias was beautiful, and when we arrived in Omaha there was actually some sunshine!!  We also ran into an old church friend, Marsha Claesson.

Adeline's Gift

A while back, Pam and I decided it would be fun to put together a Christmas gift for Adeline.  We went shopping for the fabric for the bag and some of the contents.  I took everything home and was supposed to put the bag together and put it in the mail.  Well, Pam called Friday evening to see how the project was going.  Yikes, I had totally forgotten!  This morning I put together the bag, wrote a pattern for a doll quilt, made the quilt kit, and bought the pin cushion.  When Sam got home we printed a Fed Ex label and took the package to Kinkos.  It will arrive on Wednesday!

The bag has handles, but I couldn't get them in the photo.

Caitlin's Design & Other Shots

Using the point and shoot camera, Sam took some shots of the Flat Pattern Design Class Open House.  The outfit that Caitlin is wearing is the one she designed and made.

This is a model of a dress Caitlin designed.

 Caitlin and her friend Chloe.

Ready to chop down her Christmas tree!

After a yummy Fondue, we went to Happy Jack and had a ball.

Then we went to Cait's place and enjoyed popcorn and a movie (that's the tree she chopped down in the background).

Snowshoeing at Happy Jack

After a great Fondue lunch at Caitlin's place, we went to Happy Jack to snowshoe.  Well, Sam and I snowshoed and Caitlin cross-country skied for the first time.  We all had a great time, and decided that we should exercise like that after every fondue!

The sun was shining when we arrived.

After about an hour, fog came rolling in and actually "frosted" Caitlin's headband.

By the time we got to the car, the fog was really thick!

Saturday in Wyoming

Sam and I went out to visit Caitlin for the weekend.  She had a flat pattern design open house that we wanted to attend.  Unfortunately it fell on Jordan's birthday.  He was actually busy with his Army Reserve weekend, so he assured us that celebrating next weekend was fine.  I'll have to do a separate post with photos of Caitlin's outfit.  After the open house we went up to the mountains, got a permit, and cut down a Christmas tree for Caitlin's apartment!  Great fun.

I went out for a walk around the bed and breakfast where we stay when in Laramie.  It was a foggy morning and the sky was beautiful.  There are stables at the bed and breakfast and they were having a competition Saturday morning.
Caitlin's tree successfully attached to the car!

Photos taken along the road on the way home from Snowy Range.

Leaves

Took a little walk in the park across the street and found some pretty leaves.  It is very difficult to get a photo of a leaf holding still, the wind keeps blowing and so I have to keep refocusing and waiting for that half a second when the wind stops and the focus is good, or at least close!
