On Tuesday Judy let us borrow her car and we went to Sauvie Island, about 10 minutes from their home. There are many farms there with "U Pick" opportunities. I did pick some lavender but chose to buy some blueberries since there was a 2 pound limit if you picked them yourself. There are also beaches and wildlife reserve areas.
