Cuicocha Lake

I'm still posting photos from Saturday :).  We've been really busy going to visit wonderful places and then being treated to delicious meals either at home or at local restaurants.  So these following photos are of a lake whose name when translated is Guinea Pig Lake.  Apparently on the islands guinea pigs live in the wild as well as a bear, Oso de anteojos in Spanish.  There is a boat that you can take that goes around the islands but it was very cold and Jose said it would be even colder there so we didn't go.  I wish I would have said let's do it anyway but I didn't.  Guess I'll just have to come back!

This lake is in the crater of a volcano and in this photo it is easy to see the rim of the volcano.

In this photo you can see the 2 islands towards the left.  I need to work on photographing landscapes.  I think I should have used my graduated neutral density filters.  I will work on them in photoshop sometime this summer.

There was the torso and head of a guy in this photo at the bottom towards the right.  I stamped him out!  I like the way you can see the rim of the volcano in this photo.

Here you can see the boat returning from its tour around the islands.  This kind of gives you an idea of the size of the islands.  The boat holds around 20 people.
