I went back to the lake Monday after school to see if I could find the American Avocet again, but they were gone. I did see a shore bird that I'm not sure what it was, but by the time I went back to my car, got my camera and got to the spot where I had seen him he was gone too. The Meadowlarks, however, were in abundance and not too shy. I love to hear them as I walk around the lake!
The quality of this photo isn't great but I laughed when I saw it on my computer. There are things in the photo that I didn't really see when I took the picture. For example, the Meadowlark on the right is sitting on a glove that I didn't even notice and the Meadowlark on the left, well, I didn't notice him (or her) at all.
In this photo as well as the next, there was a blade of grass just to the right of the Meadowlark that I didn't like, so I stamped it out. You can see a bit of it in the previous photo. I really like the stamp feature in the Canon editing tool.
I learned something new about my blog and that is, in order to keep my postings free I must keep my photos under a certain size. It took me a while to figure this out but I think I'll be OK from now on.
